How I Made My Internet Connection "Faster"

Internet speed is usually something that plagues people. Whether yours is too slow, or it just takes too long to load, a large number of people are busy cursing about their “damn connection”. Well, I found a way to speed it up a little, for those of you who may be in the position that I was in.
After reading an article online, I heard that Wifi signals travelled better horizontally, rather than vertically, since it’s easiest for them to pan sideways. Previously, my Router had been on the bottom floor of my house, and my iMac was in my room, which is on the far end of the second story (as far away from the router as it is to get). So with a bit of persuasion, I managed to move my router onto the second floor, allowing an easier connection between my iMac and Router.
So far so good. I no longer have to wait for an entire Youtube video to load before I can start watching, in fear of the playhead getting further than the loaded content, and my connection hasn’t dropped once, whereas it was dropping every second before I moved my router (which was the reason I felt prompted to move it).
It’s certainly a welcome change, and I’ll update if my information is false. However, before I moved the router, Facebook took about 10 seconds to load. Now it loads instantly. So if you have a router that’s far away from your computer, it may aid you to bring it nearer in order to get a better reception. It’ll be worth it!
