Album 4
I’ve just updated the Album 4 information page (Link opens in this window). What’s new? Well, I’ve added sound clips to all the songs which have been fully mastered and are ready for the eventual release. Clips are currently available for 1. Humble, 3. … . .. …, 4. Getting Over You, 5. Make Me Feel Invincible, and 10. Substiture. Hopefully this will keep you occupied until the release later this year (hopefully). I will also be finalizing the album name soon, so I’ll keep you updated.

Album 4 is Blak Tornado’s fourth studio album,  following An Unnecessary Biography. The album is slated to be available before December 2009.

If It Doesn't Sync, I Don't Want It!

Strike One!

If it doesn’t sync, I don’t want it. That’s my motto. If it doesn’t communicate with the cloud (any cloud, I don’t mind!) then I don’t want it. What’s the point in inputting all this data into a random app when a simple accidental delete could wipe it all away so easily? I understand how it’s impossible for every app developer to utilize the cloud, and that not every app needs it (games, for example, are an exception), but if I have untapped internet at my fingertips, I want to make the most of it by having a backup – even if it’s just backing up to my iMac.

Password managers, for example, fit into this category. I use 1Password on my iMac and thankfully there is an iPhone version too. But all other password managers would be useless to me since all my data is stored in this one app which I use all the time. I’d have to re-input my data into every new app I decide to install. And what happens if I don’t like it? I have to do it all over again with another app. Time is of the essence.

Another thing is that my phone is literally just that; a phone. I could lose it or break it or who knows what! If that’s the only place I have my data, it could be trouble. Lots of it. It’s why I don’t really like relying on USB Flash drives as a source of data holding – they’re too easy to lose. So that’s why I choose to avoid any app that doesn’t sync in some way or another. iPhone and iPod Touch owners, am I alone in this?

Snow Leopard is coming!

Once again, the cute Indeever

Tomorrow, Apple will be releasing it’s brand new Operating System Snow Leopard. So what’s new? Well, Apple has focused on working on the underbelly of this update and is introducing new features, such as “OpenCL” and “Grand Central Dispatch”, which vastly speeds up computers with the right graphics card and multi-core processors.

On top of that, the most exciting update (in my opinion) is the recent changes to the Quicktime interface. Apple has stripped down all the clutter and opened up the old “Quicktime Pro” features to everyone, allowing users to make small adjustments to videos within the quicktime interface- no iMovie required.

Amongst other things, Apple has also managed to reduce the Operating System’s size by 10GB, which is a massive amount of space… but what for? Could it be to aid the possibly upcoming Apple Tablet? I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but at least for now we can play around with Apple’s new cat. Great!

Apple’s Snow Leopard will be released tomorrow, 28th August 2009, at the retail price of $29 / £25. You can pre-order from the Online Apple Store or Amazon.

Mario Kart: The Movie – Trailer (HD)

This brings back childhood memories. If only it were real… It certainly explains a few things though.
