There Are Too Many Famous People

There are so many famous people in the world that chances are you’ll see one of them in the street and fail to recognise them. It’s sad but most likely true; obviously I can’t vouch for this statement’s validity because when I see famous people in the street that I don’t recognise, I usually don’t recognise them. That said, I did see Su Pollard from ‘Hi-De-Hi!’ when I was nine and asked her who she was, only to find out she was famous when I got home and my Mum was like “That was Su Pollard!”. But I digress.

I ask you this; if you passed the backing guitarist from… um… My Chemical Romance in the street tomorrow, would you recognise him (or her)? Unless you’re an avid fan, I doubt it… In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that everyone was going stupidly mental about the fact he was there, I wouldn’t even have known that fashionista Gok Wan (pictured) was in my local area doing some filming. Obviously the massive Channel 4 cameras and the crowds of teenage girls were a bit of a give away, but if I’d have just continued my normal day I could have passed him by on my way to Greggs without even realising who he was. In fact, I walked by him several times. I figured that if that’s going to be me one day -doing telly stuffs, I hope. Not being a gay fashion person…- then I may as well get my sweet justice now… Well, ok, it’s not justice but it just makes me feel a bit better about the public that will eventually and inevitably ruin MY filming.
