‘Blak Tornado’ is the online pseudonym of Rowan Johnson, an independent film maker, musician and web designer based in Southampton, England. Having recently left his National Diploma in Media Production course at Lincoln College with flying colours, Rowan has now moved on to study Television and Video production at Southampton Solent University; a vital foundation needed before trying to find work in the battleground that is the Media Industry.

From a young age, Rowan has been busily devoting his spare time to experimenting with artistic and creative ideas, starting with his music. By the time Rowan was 12 years old, he had already recorded, mastered and produced his first studio album which he distributed amongst his friend group. Ever since, Rowan has continued to explore the vast landscape of creative mediums, eventually venturing into animation and then film. From there, Rowan has released 4 studio albums, 2 downloadable experimental albums, around 50 stop motion animations and a whole host of short videos.

Now, at the age of 18, Rowan has a growing list of achievements under his belt, including his most recent endeavour; ‘Robot’. Conceived as part of his college course, Rowan’s debut short film ‘Robot’ is a science-fiction short film that combines principals taught in education with the lessons and skills learnt from pursuing his hobbies, such as the stop-motion animation web series ‘Clayground’. After meeting warm approval from tutors, peers and the public, Robot is now being sent off to festivals across the country.
